摘要: ABSTRACTBuccoadhesives have long been employed to improve the bioavailability of drugs undergoing significant hepatic first-pass metabolism. Diltiazem hydrochloride (DLZ) is also reported low oral due an extensive effect. Controlled-release buccoadhesive hydrophilic matrices containing DLZ were prepared using a 32 factorial design. Amounts Carbopol® 934P (CP) and Methocel® K100LV (HPMC) taken as formulation variables (factors) for optimizing bioadhesion, kinetics dissolution diffusion. A mathematical model was generated each response parameter. Bioadhesive strength tended vary quite linearly in increasing order with amount polymer. The drug release pattern all combinations found be non-fickian, approaching zero-order kinetics. values permeation coefficient non-linearly polymer amount, depicting plausibility interaction between two polymers.
