摘要: The protozoan Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite that infects a wide range of warm-blooded vertebrates. data about the occurrence toxoplasmosis in slaughter pigs Slovak Republic are still missing. aim our study was to estimate prevalence from Slovakia during period 2006–2010 by ELISA and PCR methods. In sera 970 pigs, 2.16% seropositivity T. detected. tissue samples seropositive presence DNA confirmed. six monitored regions varied between 1.11 3.48%. statistically significant differences were recorded Kosice Presov region. seroprevalence sows (4.26%) two times higher than (2.06%) (OR = 2.12; 95% CI 0.48–9.36). Presence tissues pig isolates confirmed TGR1E B1 genes analysis polymorphism at SAG2 ROP1 revealed virulent strain genotype I 85.7% infected avirulent (genotype II) 14.3% pigs.
