摘要: This article is a report of study exploring the psychometric properties Portuguese version Interpersonal Communication Assessment Scale (ICAS) related to nursing education. communication in health care general and particular used transmit messages between members involved so as convey meaning their interaction. The essence focused on nurse–patient interpersonal communication. validation ICAS developed 4 steps: translation, back comparison both versions, evidence validity version. was carried out using Statistical Package for Social Sciences. nonprobabilistic convenience sample composed 156 second-year students undergraduate course (2008–2009). analysis showed high values Cronbach's alpha (ICAS: .939; advocacy: .857; therapeutic use self: .890; validation: .795), Pearson correlation ( r = .740, P .000), Bartlett's test sphericity (2190.278, Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin measure sampling adequacy (.910). In general, ICAS–Portuguese are comparable original internal consistency reliability excellent temporal stability, thus an appropriate tool assessing skills.
