摘要: Abstract The capacity of basic protein myelin (BPM) from various species to produce experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) in the guinea pig or Lewis rat, was abrogated by mixing BPM with alpha 2 macroglobulin, transferrin, and ceruloplasmin. Inhibition EAE observed only when encephalitogen held vitro directly inhibitor not each injected separately. Guinea pigs which failed develop after an injection a mixture macroglobulin nevertheless developed cell-mediated immunity antibodies BPM. However, animals encephalitogenic tryptophan peptide neither nor humoral antibody present studies attributed binding between BPM, possibly blocked its main determinant, rather than enzymatic cleavage This inhibitory effect globulin on immunogenicity could represent further example homeostatic control over immune responses.
