摘要: Abstract The aim of the article is to compare qualification process environmental impact assessment (EIA) applied for mining projects in Visegrad Group countries (V4). Poland a major producer copper and silver, Czech Republic produces kaolin uranium, Slovakia – magnesite Hungary bauxite. Despite significant differences mineral reserves mentioned countries, deposits are treated as important natural resources that basis development power industry, construction industry other various industrial branches. paper determines importance EIA procedure. In next part, criteria thresholds procedure resulting from division depending on possibility have been described. It has shown there large which qualify discussed comparison with European Union Directive, V4 more detailed (expanded) criteria. best example when concerning into particular types, while Polish solutions present most set Republic, any new project subject mandatory procedure, they always screening stage. Exploration works only Hungary. They based such parameters depth given borehole occurrence protected (groundwater, animated nature, etc.). selection may potentially environment also considerably differ degree details even units. authors raise question whether it intentional or accidental, emphasising lack precision this area makes exploitation complicated. should be emphasised one instruments management allowing achieve sustainable economic development.
