摘要: Summary Two groups of eight rabbits each were fed an atherogenic diet (2% cholesterol in 6% corn oil) for weeks. One group was given a daily oral dose 2.5 mg/kg mevinolin, potent inhibitor HMG-CoA reductase. The test compound by gavage dissolved 0.5 ml dimethyl-sulfoxide. control the vehicle alone. Rabbits treated with mevinolin exhibited significantly lower serum levels and less severe atherosclerosis.
