摘要: BACKGROUND: Microwave ablation has recently been developed as a safe and effective treatment for variety of tumors. The authors evaluated the safety efficacy computed tomography (CT)-guided percutaneous microwave adrenal malignant tumors. METHODS: Nine patients between 41 83 years age (average age, 54 years) with carcinoma (a total 10 lesions) received CT-guided water-cooled ablation. 9 cases included 1 primary adrenocortical 8 metastatic carcinomas (4 from lung cancer, 2 hepatocellular carcinoma, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, left tibial osteosarcoma). Of cases, 7 were unilateral, was bilateral. All pathologically confirmed by aspiration biopsy or postsurgical biopsy. tumor diameters ranged 2.1 cm to 6.1 (average, 3.8 cm). average number sites 1.5 (1-3 sites), accumulated time 7.7 minutes (4-15 minutes). procedures performed using cooled-shaft antenna. RESULTS: The followed 3-37 months, an 11.3 months. Nine lesions completely necrotized after first treatment. other lesion treatments. One experienced hypertensive crisis during No patient recurrent at treated site, this lack recurrence indicated local control. had progression disease extra-adrenal sites. CONCLUSIONS: CT-guided is minimally invasive method carcinoma. Cancer 2011;. © 2011 American Society.
