摘要: We present a new approach for determining the strength of dipolar solute-induced reaction field, along with ground- and excited-state electrostatic dipole moments polarizability solvated chromophore, using exclusively one-photon two-photon absorption measurements. verify on two benchmark chromophores N,N-dimethyl-6-propionyl-2-naphthylamine (prodan) coumarin 153 (C153) in series toluene/dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) mixtures find that experimental values show good quantitative agreement literature our quantum-chemical calculations. Our results indicate field varies surprisingly broad range, 0–107 V cm−1, at close proximity, order chromophore radius, effective dielectric constant solute–solvent system displays unique functional dependence bulk constant, offering insight into close-range molecular interaction.
