Greek brief pain inventory: validation and utility in cancer pain.

摘要: Objective: The Brief Pain Inventory (BPI) is a pain assessment tool. It has been translated into and validated in several languages. purpose of this study was the translation validation BPI Greek. Moreover, we wanted to detect cultural social differences, if any, interference patients’ lives. Methods: inventory took place at Areteion Hospital. final sample consisted 220 cancer patients (123 males, 97 females, age range 21–87 years, mean 61.3). Primary locations were lung 25.6%, gastrointestinal tract breast 11.5%, prostate 7.07%, gynecological cancers 9.6% others 20.57%. themselves completed majority Greek (G-BPI) papers. management index (PMI) also calculated order assess adequacy treatment. Assessing reliability validity made actual G-BPI. Results: severity management: 147 reported severe pain, 48 moderate, 25 mild (mean average 6.22). From these only 21 found on strong 33 weak opioid treatment, while 166 no analgesic In agreement with data PMI which positive for 9 patients, 44 had = 0 all negative scores. Reliability Validity G-BPI: Coefficient alphas 0.849 items 0.887 items. Additionally, factor analysis G-BPI results two-factor solution, that satisfies criteria reproducibility, interpretability confirmatory setting. Conclusion: This shows efficacy as well Greece, therefore its utility improving treatment outcome patients.
