摘要: Abstract Previous work with yeast has indicated that chitin is the specific component of septum between mother and daughter cell. Experiments synchronized cells show synthesis initiated at a precise time in cell cycle. Newly discovered features synthetase system suggest how this specificity location timing can be achieved. The particulate shown to exist almost entirely an inactive or zymogen state. converted into active form either by enzyme (activating factor) present trypsin. activating factor found fraction, but solubilized mild sonic oscillation. A heat-stable protein, previously isolated from believed inhibit synthetase, now been act as inhibitor which it binds very tightly. It proposed form, uniformly distributed on cytoplasmic membrane. At initiation, vesicles carrying would directed sites bring about localized conversion form. molecular model thus introduced for processes morphological change differentiation.
