摘要: Author(s): Armistead, Alan R.; Mitchell, Ken; Connolly, Guy E. | Abstract: Preventive relocation of black bears (Ursus americanus) was tried as an alternative to lethal removal that attacked sheep in northeastern Oregon. Bears likely problem areas or close proximity bands were captured with culvert traps and moved other ranges without sheep. Sixteen relocated 1990 five 1991 from where damaging had been destroyed 1989. The radio collared monitored by the Oregon Department Fish Wildlife. None them involved livestock depredations subsequent relocation. Sheep losses lower than prior years when not relocated. Relocation appears be a feasible control attack livestock. costs preventative killing depredation approximately equal, but deemed more acceptable general public.
