摘要: Two approaches that have had a dominant influence on the study of excitability are macroscopic electrodiffusion, based Nernst-Planck equation, and channel approach, phenomenological formulation Hodgkin Huxley. Although electrodiffusion served as historical starting point electrophysiological theory was once described by K. S. Cole “the most complete, attractive, widely used model for electrical properties living cell membranes,” focus attention in recent years has shifted to approach. The opening sections this chapter will present some reasons which remains an important, indeed necessary, endeavor toward obtaining full understanding excitability.
