摘要: Teleosts are the largest and most diverse group of vertebrates, many species undergo morphological, physiological, behavioral transitions, "metamorphoses," as they progress between morphologically divergent life stages. The larval metamorphosis that generally occurs teleosts mature from larva to juvenile involves loss embryo-specific features, development new adult major remodeling different organ systems, changes in physical proportions overall phenotype. Yet, contrast anuran amphibians, for example, teleost can entail morphological change is either sudden profound, or relatively gradual subtle. Here, we review definition teleosts, diversity metamorphic strategies transitions involve, what known their underlying endocrine genetic bases. We suggest offers an outstanding opportunity integrating our understanding mechanisms, cellular processes morphogenesis differentiation, evolution morphologies histories.
