Geotechnical comparison of weathering degree and shear wave velocity in the decomposed granite layer in Hongseong, South Korea

摘要: As part of a fundamental characterization subsurface layer in South Korea, the weathering degree and shear wave velocity (V S) were evaluated decomposed granite Hongseong, using X-ray fluorescence analyses site investigations, including borehole drilling with standard penetration test (SPT) situ seismic tests. The was composed weathered 10–40 m thick at most sites. Weathering indicated that three chemical indices, modified potential index (MWPI), Vogt ratio (VR), Parker (WIP), generally increased decreasing depth. In tests revealed V S ranged between 200 500 m/s layer. Using N values from SPT testing sites, correlations established for Furthermore, examination relationships MWPI, WIP, 100/VR indices showed linearly increasing exponentially values.
