摘要: The metabolism and inhibitory effects of the carbon-linked nucleoside antibiotic showdomycin were investigated in cell-free preparations Ehrlich ascites cells. is not a substrate for kinase or phosphorylase. Showdomycin shows on certain enzymes an cell preparation, which are involved uridine orotic acid metabolism. It inhibits uridine-5′-monophosphokinase, phosphorylase, possibly orotidylic pyrophosphorylase reactions, but has no effect activity adenosine strongly bovine liver uridine-5′-diphosphate-α-d-glucose dehydrogenase rabbit muscle lactic dehydrogenase. selective inhibition by may be related to alkylating property its maleimide structure, known specifically react with sulfhydryl groups.
