摘要: Cyclin E and p27Kip1 are co-regulators of the G1-to S-phase transition closely related to tumor behavior. The purpose this study was examine expression cyclin in astrocytomas evaluate relationships between these cell-cycle regulators prognosis patients with astrocytoma. Tissue samples from 130 (WHO grade 1 n=5, 2 n=23, 3 n=64, 4 n=38) were examined immunohistochemically for expression. Patient charts reviewed clinical presentation, survival followed. labeling index (LI) tended increase (Kruskal-Wallis, P=0.0104). For primary astrocytomas, 50% times low LI (<5%) group high LI(≥5%) 53.7 months 19.8 months. In combined analysis expression, E/high (≥50%) had best (50% time: 103.2 months), E/low groups moderate (24.1 27.5 worst (13.1 months). Multivariate identified factor, p27Kip1, as a novel independent prognostic factor time (P=0.0037, relative risk=2.4). This suggested that considered be potentially useful predicting
