摘要: Intracranial ependymomas are the third most common primary brain tumor in children. Although clinical and histological criteria for ependymoma prognosis recognized, studies have reported contradictory results. Prognostic significance based on immunohistochemistry of has been a few studies. One-hundred twelve patients with intracranial were examined retrospectively immuno-expression various tumor-associated antigens apoptosis. The results demonstrated significant preponderance expression tenascin, vascular endothelial growth factor protein (VEGF), epidermal (EGFR) p53 high-grade tumors. Also revealed more prominent labeling indices (LI) proliferative marker Ki-S1 apoptotic index (AI), lower LI cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors p27/Kip1 p14ARF. For low-grade progression-free survival time (PFS) was found to be significantly shorter LI>5%, VEGF EGFR positivity. PFS reduced p27 0%; (4) combination either positivity p14 LI>10% or negativity LI<10%; (5) p53-positive LI<10%. In summary, some immunohistochemical variables strong predictors recurrence they seem useful assessing individual routinely processed biopsy specimens together grade. histologically benign study should focused Ki-S1, evaluation, whereas number p27, ISEL-positive nuclei will value determining from ependymomas.
