Monitoring prioritisation in the public health-care sector by use of medical guidelines. The case of Norway.

摘要: This paper presents a new way to monitor priority settings in public health-care systems. We take departure medical guidelines prescribing acceptable waiting times for different descriptions. Allocating ICD10 codes the descriptions, we are able compare actual recommended maximum times. use as tool monitoring prioritisation health sector. In an application, using data from Norwegian Patient Register, test statistically compliance with guidelines. The results indicate that patients suffering most severe conditions receiving too low sector relative of lower priority. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
