摘要: This chapter discusses microstructural studies of cemented carbides that are great significance for understanding their properties and engineering performances. There many factors, which have direct bearing on the microstructure carbides. These include basic chemical composition hard binder phase, shape, size its distribution WC particles, degree intersolubility carbides, excess or deficiency carbon, variation in due to diffusion segregation, processing technology, coatings, if any, The focuses optical microscopy can be used successfully quality control evaluations scientific coarse-grained metals. Modern grades very often consist a carbide grain < l μm. In most technical grades, pores, impurities, phase regions, grains cannot adequately studied insufficient resolution microscopy. has led introduction thin foil electron 166 technique, been extensively studying deformation fracture behavior nature precipitates tungsten carbide- cobalt (WC–Co) alloys.
