摘要: Abstract In this study, fresh oil palm frond (OPF) juice was explored as an alternative fermentation medium for the production of bacterial cellulose (BC) by Acetobacter xylinum 0416. The effect surface area to volume (S/V) ratio and nitrogen sources supplementation OPF were investigated improve BC production. S/V 0.25, 0.50 0.75 initially prepared using Hestrin Schramm (HS) medium. inoculated with A. 0416 incubated statically at 28 ± 1 °C 10 days. yield properties produced measured where highest best obtained reflects optimum ratio. from supplemented yeast extract peptone carried out same condition thickness while its characteristics analysed scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) tensile strength. Results showed that lowest 0.25 gave BC, superior crystallinity strength compared higher SEM images samples exhibited a slight difference on morphology network between three ratios, whilst denser juice. outstanding performance increasing up six times in HS Moreover, Therefore, findings study offer promising feedstock
