摘要: Introduction Sleeve fractures of the patella are rare that only occur in children. The diagnosis is difficult both clinically and radiologically since distal bony fragment may be too small to detectable by radiography. A high-riding hemarthrosis important signs sleeve fractures. Case report 12-year-old boy was admitted emergency room after having felt a severe pain his left knee on kicking ground while skateboarding earlier day. Knee swelling, tense hemarthrosis, periarticular tenderness were noted. On physical examination, an extension lag 15 observed. active range motion injured 45-90° flexion. Radiography showed avulsion fracture lower pole patella. At next day injury, we performed open reduction internal fixation surgery.
