Myth busting rural labour shortages. A market segmentation approach reveals new recruitment opportunities.

摘要: This study examines two regional meat processing plants (MPPs) whose recruitment strategies have failed to meet staffing needs. Using population and workforce survey data, this applies attribute trade-off analysis segment the labour market participating MPP workforces on basis of individuals' job preferences. The finds that, although both MPPs attract employees with a preference for family support attributes, only one attracts equally likely value attributes as organisation/job attributes. findings indicate that currently fail fully utilise 33% would consider jobs. Regional workers could be recruited separately from segments favour (30% respondents), spouse (38% respondents) and/or (32% respondents).
