摘要: Clinical whole-genome sequencing (WGS) promises to deliver faster diagnoses and lead better management of care in the NICU. However, several disability rights advocates have expressed concern that clinical use genetic technologies may reinforce perpetuate stigmatization discrimination against disabled persons medical social contexts. There is growing need, then, for clinicians bioethicists consider how WGS newborn period might exacerbate such harms with disabilities. This article explores ways extend these concerns neonatal care. By considering perspectives during early phases expanded NICU, this encourages continue reflect on attend advocates, foster trust cooperation between communities, forestall some cause disabilities their families.
