摘要: Out of 700 heifers at a local farm in Hokkaido, the Northern island Japan, 560 (80%) were found to have benign teat tumors. All analyzed tumors macroscopically flat-and-round type, and no other types such as rice-grain or frond epithelial type found. The lesions characterized by hyperplasia, acanthosis hyperkeratosis. Unlike typical fibropapilloma, fibroplasia underlying dermis was not observed. Bovine papilloma virus (BPV) capsid antigen particles basophilic intranuclear inclusions stratum granulosum epidermis immunohistochemistry electron microscopy, respectively. BPV-specific DNA also detected lesions. By means polymerase chain reaction (PCR) sequencing PCR products, viruses causing this outbreak identified mainly BPV-6 (64%), partly unclassified BPVs (14%) their co-infections (21%). Our findings suggest that associated with several BPV types.
