摘要: Two alk(en)yl thiosulfates, sodium n-propyl thiosulfate (NPTS) and 2-propenyl (2PTS), are natural constituents of onion garlic, respectively, which were identified originally as causative agents onion- garlic-induced hemolytic anemia in dogs. As a continuation our studies on the beneficial functions NPTS 2PTS, present study, we investigated antitumor effects these compounds. They shown to inhibit vitro proliferation three human tumorigenic cell lines, WiDr, 293 HL-60, dose-dependent manner. Overall, seemed have weak activity for inhibiting growth compared with though not WiDr cells, sensitive both 2PTS caused oxidative damage HL-60 cells induced apoptosis. The extent apoptosis was approximately proportional that also cytotoxicity by These results suggest thiosulfates an effect through induction initiated stress.
