摘要: In this work, the impact fracture behavior and damage mechanisms of PP/EVOH blends compatibilized with ionomer Zn2+ were investigated, focusing on effect compatibilizer EVOH content. Initiation energy release rate (GIC) values for content lower than 30 wt % slightly or similar to that neat PP, probably due premature failure induced by presence critical-size flaws derived from debonding second phase particles. However, 40 exhibited higher GIC PP as a result increased number particles able induce energy-absorption mechanisms. An increase in work was also observed, especially above %. Therefore, incorporation led more prone ductile PP. Furthermore, Pukanszky Maurer model successfully applied fit experimental data function confirm lack significant properties observed. Finally, study main deformation it established toughening subsequent tearing matrix around them which developed under quasi-static stresses not develop loading conditions. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
