摘要: Extensive outbreaks of tree-killing insects have been occurring in many parts North America, including the province British Columbia, raising concerns about health pine forest ecosystems. The dynamic phenomenon mountain beetle (MPB), Dendroctonus ponderosae Hopkins, infestation is an inherent spatial and temporal complex process. Agent-based modeling (ABM) facilitates simulating interactions that describe ecological context which insect populations spread. main objective this study was to develop a model MPB dynamics. This spatially explicit integrates geographic information systems (GISs) ABM simulate at tree landscape scales, providing spatiotemporal annual distribution patterns outbreaks. prototype implemented with data generated from aerial overview surveys carried out by B.C. Ministry Forests Range, for site Kamloops, Canada. Results show direct influence vigorous stands trees on higher breeding rates, therefore population increment scale, period 5 years. simulation results level help determine most probable locations future infestations time frame 10
