摘要: The influence of the Atlantic Zonal Mode (AZM) or NiA±o on monsoon depressions in Bay Bengal during boreal summer (June-August) is studied. Our analysis shows that there a statistically significant difference number between warm and cold phases AZM; more (fewer) form (warm) phase AZM. It also are differences spatial pattern trajectories depressions; AZM, tracks relatively long seem to cluster along axis core region compared indicates an increase (a reduction) low-level cyclonic vorticity midtropospheric humidity but reduction (an increase) vertical wind shear due anomalous circulation pattern. All these changes favorable for enhancement (suppression) further teleconnection pathway by which AZM can remote Indian Ocean. This could have implications enhancing prediction skill, especially non-El NiA±o-Southern Oscillation years. Key Points Influence Cold increases (decreases) large-scale atmospheric conditions BoB
