摘要: Background: Risk factors of cardiovascular disease such as lipid aberrations, hypertension, abdominal adiposity and elevations in systemic inflammation, are prominent aetiologies hyperlipidemia. Supplementation with n-3 PUFA is associated a reduction events through its hypotriglyceridemic, anti-aggregatory anti-inflammatory properties. Plant sterols have potent hypocholesterolemic properties, although their effect on the inflammatory cascade uncertain. This study investigated combined supplementation plant risk factors, blood pressure, body composition, markers inflammation overall risk, hyperlipidemic individuals. Methods: The was 3-week randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 2 × factorial design, four parallel groups. Sixty participants were randomised to recieve either sunola oil or 1.4 g/d capsules without g per day. Results: combination reduced several markers. High sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) by 39% (P = 0.009), tumor necrosis factor- (TNF- )b y 10% 0.02), interleukin-6 (IL-6) 10.7% leukotriene B4 (LTB4) 29.5% 0.01) adiponectin increased 0.05). Overall 22.6% 0.006) group. Conclusion: We demonstrated, for first time that dietary intervention reduces Furthermore, our results suggest reducing provides potential mechanism which cardioprotective. © 2008 Elsevier Ireland Ltd.
