Synthesis; characterization and antimicrobial effects of composites based on multi-substituted hydroxyapatite and silver nanoparticles

摘要: Abstract Nano hydroxyapatite doped with zinc (0.2 wt%), silver (0.25 wt%) and gold (0.025 wt%), (HAP), has been obtained by an innovative wet chemical approach, coupled a reduction process for gold. The synthesized multi-substituted nano HAP was freeze-dried calcined at 650 °C. characterized XRD, FTIR spectroscopy imaging techniques: TEM, SEM AFM. Then, mixed previously nanoparticles (AgNPs), in the amount of 9 wt%, to give novel material (HAP-Ag). AgNPs were prepared nitrate glucose alkaline medium. TEM UV–Vis confirmed formation average size 12 nm. Further, organic matrix composites from filler made and/or HAP-Ag mixture monomers (such as bis-GMA TEG-DMA), which polymerized various compositions content up 5.4 wt%. Antibacterial activities these investigated against several different pathogenic species: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, spp., Bacillus cereus, Candida albicans, using Kirby–Bauer disk-diffusion method. are enhanced increasing within composites. These effects clearly reveal that can be effectively utilized combination polymeric matrix, both used carriers, order improve their efficiency species. considered promising antimicrobial coating orthopedic dental implants or bone cements surgical applications.
