摘要: Aims and background Meningiomas are classified following the WHO system of 2000 into three grades, benign (grade I), atypical II), anaplastic III). We investigated relation between tumor grade Ki-67 bcl-2. Methods In present study, 246 cases meningioma were reclassified according to system. The relationship morphological parameters like pattern, mitotic index, cellularity, pleomorphism, nucleoli, small cell population with high nucleus/cytoplasmic ratio, necrosis brain invasion was examined. Follow-up data available for only 80 patients. Results A correlation found all morphologic except invasion. These related a poor prognosis. There no statistically significant difference in prognosis I II, whereas these two grades collectively exhibited significantly better survival than III. Immunohistochemical staining bcl-2 performed, correlations their expressions other clinicopathological findings investigated. expression correlated grade, higher expression. conclusion, appeared be most important parameter meningiomas. Conclusions might participate carcinogenesis when used grading could provide additional benefit assessing biological behavior tumor.
