摘要: Climate models use a wide variety of parameterizations for surface albedos the ice-covered ocean. These range from simple broadband albedo that distinguish among snow-covered and bare ice to more sophisticated include dependence on snow depth, solar zenith angle, spectral resolution. Several have also been developed thermodynamic sea additionally age, melt pond characteristics. Observations obtained in Arctic Ocean during 1997–1998 conjunction with Surface Heat Budget (SHEBA) FIRE Clouds Experiment provide unique data set against which evaluate albedo. We apply eight different SHEBA/FIRE parameterized observed albedos. Results show these yield very representations annual cycle The importance details functional relationships is assessed by incorporating into single-column model two parameterizations, one complex simple, same annually averaged baseline characteristics strength ice-albedo feedback are compared simulations
