摘要: Upon host cell invasion the apicomplexan parasite Toxoplasma gondii resides in a specialized compartment termed parasitophorous vacuole that is derived from membrane but modified by parasite. Despite segregation of endocytic network, intravacuolar has been shown to acquire cholesterol cell. In order characterize further role sterol metabolism T. biology, we focused our studies on activity acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT), key enzyme for maintaining intracellular homeostasis through formation esters. this study, demonstrate ACAT and esters play crucial optimal replication gondii. Moreover, identified can be modulated pharmacological inhibitors with consequent detrimental effect replication.
