摘要: Population census size (NC) and effective population sizes (Ne) are two crucial parameters that influence viability, wildlife management deci- sions, conservation planning. Genetic estimators of both NC Ne increasingly widely used because molecular markers available, statistical methods improving rapidly, genetic complement or improve upon traditional demographic estimators. We review the kinds applications Ne, often undervalued misunderstood ratio effective-to-census (Ne/NC). focus on recently improved well evalu- ated most likely to facilitate conservation. Finally, we outline areas future research estimation in wild populations.
