摘要: Abstract Background We have previously reported outcomes for all rectal cancers in BC 1996. found that our local recurrence rates and survival were suboptimal relative to current standards recent literature. Methods In this retrospective, population-based study, we report the influence of emergent presentation (obstruction, perforation, massive hemorrhage) on outcomes, types surgical procedures use staging investigations, adjuvant radiation chemotherapy. Results There 452 invasive adenocarcinomas rectum which 45 407 nonemergent. Disease-specific at 4 years nonemergent stage II 66% versus 80%, respectively, III cancers, 60% 73%, respectively ( P Conclusions conclude outcome from cancer management is worse than presentation. Since there no difference investigations or therapy, likely due technique between cases.
