摘要: Flagella are thought of primarily as propulsive structures but in the lives certain parasitic protozoa they have another important role organelles attachment to host surfaces. There is now good evidence that such vital survival parasite, not simply by anchoring it a preferred environment, also ensuring its transmission host. Most practical interest attaches pathogenic trypanosomes and leishmanias, these causative agents major diseases man his domestic animals tropics subtropics depends upon flagellar insect vector. Prevention would, theory, be means controlling spread disease. Little known mechanisms operating attachment, however, or relationship parasite morphogenesis. The purpose this review draw attention an aspect cell biology which ripe for further investigation.
