摘要: It is widely acknowledged that many women prefer to receive their antenatal care in the community. This paper explores one explanation for why this may be case. The based on a qualitative study of 19 primagravidae, aged between 16 and 30 years, who were interviewed using technique repeated in-depth interviewing. aim research was explore relationship women's experiences pregnancy maintenance self-identity during time. findings indicate midwife her patient can foster both sense similarity others personal uniqueness, which appear essential pregnancy. Good communication seems an tool community midwife, as it allows patients normalise yet feel are unique. continuity important fostering carer required ensure uniqueness.
