摘要: The present study aimed to assess hyperglycaemia with special reference diabetes mellitus in cattle by clinico-biochemical estimation and evaluation of oxidative stress indices. A total 256 exhibiting weakness, poor body condition reduced milk yield lactating were included the study. These animals screened blood glucose level, urine ketone bodies. Out these, 32 (12.5 %) showed glycosuria, which 25 % exhibited ketonuria. Diabetes was confirmed five fasting glucose, glycated haemoglobin, serum fructosamine, intravenous tolerance test insulin level. This reports first confirmation India. All these revealed low level suggestive insulin-dependent cattle. aspartate aminotransferase (AST) gamma glutamyl transferase (GGT) found be increased diabetic Oxidant/antioxidant balance assessed hyperglycaemic age-matched Holstein Friesian (HF) cross-bred healthy control animals. Diabetic significantly higher (P ≤ 0.01) levels erythrocytic lipid peroxides comparison other controls whereas superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase lower diabetes-affected controls. Reduced glutathione did not show a significant difference between groups. It is concluded from that associated obvious compared
