摘要: Previous theoretical work suggests that magnetic reconnection in the solar corona should occur along particular topological boundaries coronal field known as separators. Thus, a field's structure predicts locations of X-ray/EUV loops, assuming enhanced emission is related to reconnection. We use this model study statistical properties active-region loops. interaction single "test" element photospheric flux with much larger distribution opposite polarity. first large-scale an active region using mean-field approach and develop procedure determine separator lengths. then perform Monte Carlo simulations check accuracy approximation. The results both methods are similar well described by simple scaling laws for Separator lengths scale ~exp(αr)/N1/2, where N parameterizes r distance test from distribution's center. This law prediction X-ray loop lengths, which can be compared observations.
