摘要: Abstract Some mechanisms of the formation F -centres in alkali halide crystals by X-irradiation are discussed with particular reference to multiple ionisation mechanism. A model is presented for calculating X-ray energy absorbed per -centre formed and reasonable agreement low temperature experimental values obtained. Room behaviour X-irradiated halides also considered some detail experiment again obtained using simple models calculate volume dilatation rate typical cases.
