摘要: Advances in the performance of low- and high-temperature superconductors enable development advanced magnets for a range applications, including tokamaks fusion energy, dipoles, quadrupoles hadron colliders, solenoids nuclear magnetic resonance studies. The capability testing prototype cables insert coils at high field is critical to these developments. We present here conceptual design test facility dipole with features suitable support magnet efforts both Fusion HEP communities. In particular, background 15 T provided over minimum homogeneous length 1000 mm, clear bore approximately 144 × 94 mm can accommodate large conductors as well along flexible cryogenic mechanical provisions sample characterization. Two technical solutions are considered. first uses forced flow cable-in-conduit conductor follows developed by EFDA EDIPO magnet. second bath cooled Rutherford cable block-coil similar CERN FRESCA2 dipole, LBNL HD LD1 dipoles. Following comparison between two approaches, we designs approach objectives, key parameters, preliminary magnetic, quench protection analysis.
