摘要: Malignant gliomas aggressively invade the surrounding normal brain, whereas brain metastases of nonglial tumors do not. The invasive behavior may be mediated by tissue- or tumor-specific extracellular proteins. mRNA for brain-specific enriched hyaluronan-binding protein (BEHAB) is not detectable in adult human cortex any nonglioma tumor examined. BEHAB consistently expressed surgical samples glioma (n = 27). Glioma cell lines maintained under standard culture conditions grown as s.c. express BEHAB. When intracranial grafts, that BEHAB, noninvasive a unique and selective marker play role invasion.
