摘要: Abstract Background The EC-funded project SPIDIA is aimed to develop evidence-based quality guidelines for the pre-analytical phase of blood samples used DNA molecular testing. To this purpose, a survey and pan-European External Quality Assessment (EQA) were implemented. Methods facility sent all participants same sample be processed without time or temperature limitation. parameters performed at included: UV spectrophotometric analysis purity yield, PCR interferences study by Kineret software integrity pulsed field gel electrophoresis. Results 197 applications have been collected from 30 European countries. A high variability fragmentation was observed whereas purity, yield had narrow distribution within laboratories. significant difference between RNase P single copy gene quantity obtained in extracted with precipitation-based method respect those beads column-based methods observed. Conclusions results will basis implementing second EQA both EQAs pooled provide implementation samples.
