摘要: To study the clinical, biochemical profile and outcome of patients with biliary atresia (BA) who underwent living related liver transplantation (LRLT) at authors’ institute in last 5 y (2008–2013). Case records 20 diagnosed had undergone centre were analysed. Eighteen BA a failed Kasai procedure 2 without prior Kasai's portoenterostomy received transplant. At median follow up y 6 mo, both patient graft survival rates 90 %. The age recipients time LRLT was 8 mo 12 (60 %) transplanted children less than or equal to 1 age. male–female ratio 1.8:1. weight 7.3 kg (5.8–48 kg); two thirds 10 kg. pre-transplant total serum bilirubin (TSB) international normalized (INR) 12.98 (0.5–48.3) mg/dl 1.3 (1.0–3.9) respectively. All there no donor mortality. duration postoperative ventilation 14 h. post-operative complications infection (30 %), vascular (20 %) acute rejection (20 %). hospital stay 21 d (17–42). Two died combined hepatic portal vein thrombosis early period. Late encountered another developed chronic kidney disease necessitating renal There late occlusions development post transplant lymphoproliferative disease. Thus, for portoenterostomy, is feasible successful treatment modality good outcomes attained despite challenges size. This now well established India.
