摘要: Vaccinia virus is an efficient expression vector with broad host range infectivity and large DNA capacity. This has been particularly useful for identifying target antigens humoral cell-mediated immunity. With increased levels of gene expression, obtained either stronger vaccinia promoters or through incorporation the bacteriophage T7 RNA polymerase into genome, proteins may be synthesized in mammalian cells use as subunit vaccines. For a live recombinant vaccine, efforts are being made to attenuate further, by inactivating genes contributing virulence introducing human lymphokine genome.
