摘要: Although considerable attention has been focused on elucidating the factors that drive inflammation, it is becoming clear this ‘acceleration' state offset by an internal ‘handbrake'. A recent study uncovered essential component of handbrake system, revealing lipoxins trigger suppressors cytokine signalling to dampen inflammatory responses infection. This work bolsters growing interest in understanding how inflammation controlled from within and draws further novel targets for drug development based mimicking actions endogenous anti-inflammatory pro-resolution signals.
