摘要: Abstract The relation between the gel point of thermosetting dispersed phase and coarsening morphology a thermoplastic/thermoset blend reacted under shear has been investigated. model system was composed 60 wt% polystyrene (PS) 40 wt% an epoxy-amine (diglycidyl ether bisphenol A — 4,4′-methylenebis [2,6-diethylaniline]). This is initially homogeneous separates upon polymerization. reactive blending process consisted sequence dynamic static modes imposed into internal mixer. observation before after transition from to mode allowed showing that short period time, corresponding limited evolution conversion around point, influences drastically development morphology. coalescence agglomeration phenomena play determinant role at low intermediate epoxy conversion, are stopped when drops gel, resulting in stabilization also revealed existence distribution among epoxy-rich domains, caused by competition continual nucleation droplets their growth.
