Surface Composition of the CoPd Alloys Studied by Electron Spectroscopies

摘要: Palladium-based alloys and bimetallic systems are of importance in heterogeneous catalysis. Recently, attention was devoted to studies the catalytic properties Co-Pd binary system. An important issue consider is surface composition this alloy. The aim present work determine polycrystalline CoPd a wide range constituent concentrations (Co30Pd70 at.%, Co50Pd50 at.% Co70Pd30 at.%) at temperatures up 900°C. Quantitative AES XPS analyses were used for purpose. To composition, values inelastic mean free path (IMFP) studied necessary. These derived from elastic peak intensity. reported IMFP Pd agreement with data available literature. Reasonable consistency Co also observed. compositions room temperature determined by good agreement. It has been found that segregates surfaces Co30Pd70 above 300 °C.
