摘要: This chapter discusses cytokines as the mediator of primary hyperparathyroidism. Cytokines have emerged important mediators cell-to-cell communication. They are a diverse family molecules, many which were initially identified factors regulating hematopoietic and immune cell function differentiation. However, in instances, they found to pleiotropic actions that include effects outside microenvironment. For instance, interleukin-6 is released locally by liver during severe inflammation or infection, plays role osteoclastogenesis. Catabolic play mediating resorptive parathyroid hormone (PTH) PTH-related protein (PTHrP). Osteoclast Differentiation Factor (ODF) key PTH-induced bone resorption. Inhibiting its action blocks PTH. ODF together with colony- stimulating factor-I, both necessary sufficient induce also capable activating mature osteoclasts, expression osteoblasts increased PTH PTHrP
