摘要: Summary Objective: The aim of our study was to explore whether earlier hip arthroplasty for idiopathic osteoarthritis (OA) might be explained by enlarged contact stress in the joint, and what amount can that attributed obesity biomechanical constitution pelvis. Method: Fifty subjects were selected from a list consecutive recipients endoprosthesis due OA; standard pelvic radiographs made years prior surgery main selection criteria. For 65 hips resultant force peak normalized body weight (R/Wb pmax/Wb) determined with HIPSTRESS method. Body mass index (BMI) obtained an interview. Regression analysis used correlate parameters (body weight, BMI), pelvis (R/Wb, mechanical loading within joint (R ,p max) age at arthroplasty. Results: Younger associated higher (P ¼ 0.009), e pmax/Wb 0.019), R 0.027) larger pmax < 0.001), but not BMI 0.121) or R/Wb 0.614).
